You are an agent, of course.

We experience life as being able to influence its outcome. Regardless of whether we decide to do something or just the opposite, decide to do nothing, our decision will have an impact on our lives. Influencing our lives is at the core of the reality of being an agent.

The biological processing “hardware“ and the computer of sorts, with the totality of its life support and assets making it possible to act, this, obviously, is also the self, our selves. This also is a corner stone of who and what we are. This needs to be clearly stated because otherwise, the Informational Self just feels empty and inhuman. And it is not. The totality of ourselves as living individuals is central to, of course, what and who we are. Our understanding of ourselves needs to reflect this and not exclusively the informational and processing portion.

The link between the spiritual and the informational

The spiritual is a concept that is used to describe the immaterial aspects of our existence. The supernatural aspects of the spiritual are understandable by immaterial physical properties of information. Spirit is probably information; informational to be precise.

Do you feel and think that there is something so astoundingly special about life and your human experience, I mean your thoughts, knowledge, emotions, love of your mate, kids, friends, that surely something miraculous must be at the foundation of it?
Does that leave you thinking that science and knowledge are nice but that they don’t cover what life is all about and so spirituality cannot be dismissed?
Well, this what the Informational Self sheds light upon.

Part of the attributes of the spiritual is nothing more than superstition, imaginary and simply wrong. What is understood as our spirit groups properties that are fundamental like our feeling of existing, of having an identity (that could even transcend death), of being able to think. These are much more likely brot about by the informational capabilities of our living physical bodies and it’s nervous system than by a supernatural essence of sorts.

Our capacity to treat information is exceptionally large and this is the link between these two concepts. The informational aspects of ourselves maps onto the reality of our lives much better than the spiritual. And so, The Informational Self is a concept that is used to describe the immaterial aspects of our existence.

Life and Spirituality

Do you feel and think that there is something so astoundingly special about life and your human experience, I mean your thoughts, knowledge, emotions, love of your mate, kids, friends, that surely something miraculous has to be at the foundation of it?
Does that leave you thinking that science and knowledge are nice but that they don’t cover what life is all about and so spirituality can not be dismissed?
Well, this what the Informational Self sheds  light upon.

How are information and spirit the same thing?

Information is real, but what does it look like? What does it weigh?  What does it smell like?

Information is coded. The content of information is not dependent on the material on which it is written. It depends on the patterns that the language uses. Because of this, information has unique properties. For exemple it is weightless and odorless. Information is physically dependent on what it is coded upon to exist.  This material is almost irrelevant.  That gives it its ethereal properties.

Information is colorless and invisible of sorts. Taking apart a USB key, I could be looking at an important set of information but not be capable of even telling if it contains information.

This is important. I hold that spirit is not only very much like information and the processing of it.  Spirit and information are in fact, the same thing. But furthermore, to be more precise, supernatural aspects of spirit simply do not exist.

Spirit is information like software and the processing of it. Information offers a more useful understanding of our selve.
